Hong Kong Sevens 2015

Wednesday 18 November 2020

England Rugby Travel customers had a fantastic time at the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, the jewel in the crown of the World Sevens Series.

Fiji, who has the most-ever wins at the Hong Kong event, won the 2015 Hong Kong Sevens, beating defending champions New Zealand 33-19 in the final. It was the event's 40th birthday and it was certainly as big and loud as ever; the South Stand seemed to be filled in record time on the Saturday.

The 40,000-seat stadium, tucked into the valley at So Kon Po on Hong Kong Island, was filled with thousands of enthusiastic supporters, many dressing up to create a carnival atmosphere.

The 40th anniversary celebrations were pumped up by an exhibition match between an all-star team and seven kung fu masters, and a performance by rugby anthem divas the Village People.
