England Secure 13th Consecutive Win

Wednesday 18 November 2020

England survived for 74 minutes with 14 men following a red card for Elliot Daly to record their 13th straight win over Argentina.

Eddie Jones’ side won 27-14 but that tells only half the story of a remarkable afternoon at Twickenham that included four yellow cards and two reds. After losing Daly to a red card after six minutes, England were also forced to reshuffle their back row when the titanic Billy Vunipola was stretchered off before half time with a knee injury. He is likely to miss the entire RBS 6 Nations Championship.

But England are nothing if not resourceful these days and thanks to the remorseless boot of Owen Farrell, who kicked 17 points, a penalty try and a second half score from Jonny May, England regrouped to claim a 13th straight victory. They will equal their own record of 14 if they beat Australia at Twickenham this weekend.
